Topic: Legislative Update for HR Professionals

Description:  Keeping up with changing laws and regulations is crucial and Human Resource professionals must continuously educate themselves on changing legislation. This is essential in order for HR professionals to communicate with their organizations on legal and compliance expectations. In 2021, there are several HR employment law changes to be aware of. Three employment law changes at the federal level that may affect your organization include the minimum wage for federal contract workers, and the new rule that employers can choose to display only the last four digits of an employee’s Social Security number on their Form W-2 to reduce the risk of identity theft. The third is with COVID-19, the EEOC in 2020 waived its requirement that private sector employers submit EEO-1 data, however, in 2021, private sector employers with 100 or more employees, along with employers with 50 or more employees and at least one federal contract or subcontract worth at least $50,000 must submit their 2019 and 2020 EEO-1 surveys and the submission deadline is still pending. These and other updates will be discussed during this presentation.
